π Relevant Clauses in the Bill and what they mean:
Clause 9 of the Bill is an edit of s 206 of the current legislation about eligibility for registration options in Queensland. It explains the new provisions to allow students to be registered up to the age of 18, which significantly reduces the inequity we currently experience. This change will mean so many more opportunities for 50% of every year level of students reaching year 12 studies under the umbrella of a Home Education registration.
Clause 10 of the Bill is an edit of s 229A of the current legislation and reiterates the end of eligibility age for Home Education registration in Queensland.Β
*This does NOT mean that students who are ready to finish their studies must continue to 18 years, this amendment is offering the OPTION for those who want/need it. The compulsory schooling age will remain as it is currently, 6 years & 6 months to 16 years.Β
No other changes are proposed to be made to Home Education.
We canβt wait to enjoy this opportunity with our community!
