Spread Joy to the Bush: Join the 2025 Farmer Christmas Card Drive
Remember the incredible impact of sending cards to the bush last year? It’s time to do it again.
For Christmas 2025, Rural Aid, with the support of Santos, have officially reactivated the Christmas Cards for Farmers program and Free2homeschool are inviting homeschool students across Australia to pick up their pens and pencils to support farming families who are doing it tough.
From grazing to grape growing, our farmers work hard to put food on our tables. By creating a handmade card, students can create a genuine connection and show appreciation for the families working the land, and don’t forget — our home education families are among the farming families too. A small message of thanks can be a powerful morale booster for a farmer doing it tough.
A few years ago, this initiative saw thousands of cards sent to the bush, creating a powerful connection between city and country kids. As one farmer shared after the 2024 drive: “We got a Christmas card in the mail from a group of schoolkids… saying how thankful they were. It meant the world to us.”
These handmade cards do more than just look pretty—they tell a farmer that their hard work (whether in grazing, wheat, sugar, prawns, or poultry) is seen and appreciated.

How our homeschoolers can help:
We need your students to create handmade cards with simple, heartfelt messages like, “Thank you for everything you do to produce our food.”
